The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating the pipeline facilities, rights-of-way, compressor stations, and all associated equipment in the Penn-Leidy Eastern Interstates District.

 

Responsibilities

  • Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person’s commitment to safe operations at all times is a requirement for all applicants.  The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards.
  • Maintain and/or operate all pipeline facilities including valves, piping, right-of-way, Meter Stations, river crossings, road and RR crossings and equipment, pigging and pigging activities, and cathodic protection
  • Maintain and/or operate all compressor station equipment and facilities including engine driven reciprocating natural gas compressors and natural gas fired turbine engine/compressor sets and their ancillary equipment such as: valves, pumps, filters, storage tanks, air compressors, heaters, cooling fin fans, buildings, piping, motors, and controls
  • Housekeeping/maintaining buildings and areas including offices, warehouses, auxiliary buildings, shops, locker rooms, lunch room
  • Operate and maintain tractors, weed eaters, brush cutters, chain saws, pole saws
  • Operate and maintain portable equipment such as lubrication equipment, air compressors, power tools
  • Learn and participate in operating the pipeline and compressor stations in all operating modes, including leading to on-call rotation
  • Following all policies and procedures
  • Handle facility encroachment activities which include pipe location and markout, excavation, and inspection which result from one-call notifications and/or direct calls.
  • Drive all vehicles safely using the Smith System
  • Perform regulatory activities including those prescribed by PHMSA, OSHA, and other agencies

 

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a valid State diving license and excellent driving record
  • Collaborative, pro-active team player capable of working effectively between functional disciplines.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have basic to intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..) and PC skills.
  • Requires participation in Williams’ s Operations Development Plan (ODP).
  • Must be able to walk, bend, crawl, climb ladders, scaffolds, work in extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise, and enclosed spaces, while climbing ladders, and lifting items that weigh more than 50lbs.
  • Available to work on-call rotations, shiftwork, and flexible work week schedules as needed
  • Reside no more than 45 minutes from the White Haven Compressor Station facility in Bear Creek, PA.  If you reside more than 45 minutes from the facility, you must be willing to relocate.  (Please note Williams is not offering relocation assistance for this position).

 

 Preferred

  • Associate's or two-year technical school degree in mechanical, electronic, electric, natural gas industry or related field preferred.
  • Possess at  least one (1) year experience in mechanical and/or controls systems
  • Natural gas pipeline or maintenance experience.
