Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Rotating Equipment Technical Specialist Senior to join our workforce in our Tulsa, Oklahoma location. The primary responsibilities for this role include project support for pump selection, inspection, installation and testing as well as operational support for existing pumps. This role supports Engineering & Construction, Tactical Projects and Operations from a central group of rotating equipment subject matter experts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain in-depth understanding of equipment and apply problem solving techniques to identify and correct equipment problems or inefficiencies
  • Assist Operations to troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions
  • Provide on-site technical support for projects such as complex repairs, systems retrofits and new equipment installations
  • Gather and analyze historical operating data and calculate performance in order to develop recommendations for improving performance and reliability
  • Work with Asset Performance team to develop calculations and thresholds for exception-based reporting on equipment health for improved reliability and predictive maintenance
  • Lead or participate in equipment root cause failure analysis investigations for equipment
  • Develop overhaul and repair recommendations and budgets for supported areas
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Engineering, Tactical Projects and Operations to assist with projects
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and technical advances that can be leveraged to create a competitive advantage
  • Work with Operations, Facility Planners and other subject matter experts to determine the health of critical equipment. Ensure that we are operating reliably, efficiently and in a safe manner while maintaining the availability of our equipment.
  • Work with Engineering and Construction to review and comment on drawings, scopes and proposals
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests, drawing reviews and commissioning activities
  • Work with the Rotating Equipment team to maintain equipment operating procedures, purchase specifications, design and installation standards
  • Ensure key contractors and vendors are working to meet Williams equipment needs and operational goals
  • Evaluate installed pumps, additions, modifications and replacements options to ensure project goals and vendor guarantees are met. Develop recommendations for improving performance.
  • Maintain pump configuration database for all assigned facilities
  • Provide technical consultation and program oversight in support of corporate vibration program

 

Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance on planning, scheduling, and technical subjects
  • Ability and drive to improve existing processes
  • Technical expertise in pump principles
  • Technical expertise in machine diagnostics and vibratory analysis
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting pumps
  • Working knowledge of API 610 and API 686
  • Working knowledge of industrial control system
  • Understand complex systems and identify potential areas of improvement
  • Review and vet vendor technical proposals for pumps
  • Detailed knowledge of methods and calculations used by vendors to conduct shop performance testing
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel products
  • Knowledge of OSIsoft PI is a plus

 

Qualifications:

  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication
  • Minimum of 10 years applicable technical experience, preferably operations support or engineering/construction
  • Skilled at troubleshooting technical problems with rotating equipment
  • Experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industries
  • Experience with screw compressors, steam turbines, electric motors preferred
  • ISO Category II or higher vibration analyst certification preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%

 

*This position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
