Williams is seeking an experienced client architect with an understanding of Microsoft’s vision for Windows as a Service.  The ideal candidate will have at least six years’ experience in IT, understand how non-technical users consume technology, and be considered a technical leader with deep desktop architecture experience. The candidate must also be familiar with Azure AD, Intune, the concepts of SaaS, have excellent communications skills, a passionate drive for results, and be willing to recommend a solution beyond “that’s the way we’ve always done it.”

 

Role Expectations:

  • Senior individual contributor opportunity working in a team environment
  • Understand traditional image processes and the concepts of Windows as a Service, build and maintain the Williams desktop images. Understand, recommend, and implement deployment methods across a geographically diverse network
  • Work with outsourced provider to maintain on-premises SCCM infrastructure. Recommended upgrades, changes, decoms as necessary to operate in a high-performing environment at lowest cost
  • Understand, evaluate, and test the Microsoft 365 offering and recommend any existing on-prem client workloads to be migrated to the cloud (including patching, deployment, Intune, Auto Pilot, etc)
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal partners including Security, Network, Core Hosting services and offshore outsourced provider
  • Maintain a relationship with software and hardware vendors and keep abreast of product roadmaps
  • Work with desktop support teams to troubleshoot problem escalations. While this position is not formally on call, you will be required to assist in resolving complex issues & outages
  • Performs other related duties as required
  • There will be occasional travel

 

Requirements:

  • At least four years’ experience implementing and supporting on-premises SCCM and client Group Policy.
  • At least two years’ experience building and maintaining image task sequences using either SCCM or MDT.
  • A focus on usability and end user satisfaction while satisfying supportability and security requirements. Understand barriers to how non-technical users consume technology.
  • An understanding of client-related cloud and SaaS deployment and management technologies, specifically the Microsoft EMS suite.
  • Understand Office ProPlus deployment methodologies
  • Possess strong communications skills
