Supervisor, Engineering – Tulsa, OK

 

Our organization is seeking a collaborative leader to join the Standards team as a Supervisor of Engineer.  This role is located at the corporate headquarters in Tulsa, OK and will lead a diverse team of engineers and specialists that interact with subject matter experts, stakeholders, authors, and content owners to consolidate, develop, and maintain standards.  Standards should be implemented with a goal to improve their clarity, conciseness, and adherence to industry standards, regulations, and internal style and formatting guidance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Engineering Standards Focus Team meetings
  • Work across multiple areas and functions within Williams to develop and implement new and revised Project Standards in accordance with all regulatory requirements, industry practices, and sound engineering principles
  • Help to consolidate, develop and maintain organization-wide written standards, standard drawings, specifications, procedures, forms, bulletins, and policies
  • Effectively communicate difficult issues and work to build consensus with internal/external customers, stakeholders, and/or regulatory organizations
  • Make decisions within guidelines, philosophies, and polices that impact engineering, construction, and operations activities
  • Provide technical guidance to internal customers on applicability and interpretation of Project Standards
  • Advise and participate in technical presentations to Senior Leadership
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities including group budgets, reviewing expenses, performance assessments, career development, and goal setting

Qualifications:

A successful candidate will:

•    Possess a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in engineering

  • Have at least 10 years of experience in natural gas midstream or transmission engineering, construction, or operations

•    Have a firm understanding of industry regulations and their impact on engineering design

•    Have experience leading, motivating, and developing a diverse staff

•    Possess strong and effective communication skills and the ability to interact with various internal and external stakeholders

•    Have the motivation and ability to question and improve existing processes

•    Ability to travel up to 25%
