Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Supervisor of Engineering to join our workforce.  The role will be located in Tulsa, OK at corporate headquarters.  The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a diverse group of engineers and rotating equipment specialists to properly support our clients in the Operating Areas and Engineering and Construction teams.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise regarding the specification, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, replacement and Root Cause Failure Analysis of rotating equipment.  This position shall supporting safety, compliance, reliability, availability and efficiency goals set by the Company.  The position will work with the others in the organization to identify, develop and implement common Metrics, Processes, Procedures and Standards for the specification, installation, commissioning, start-up, and maintenance our rotating equipment.  On an as needed basis, this role will support rotating equipment Tier II Subject Matter Experts (SME), provide training to rotating equipment Tier II SME's, identify training opportunities for rotating equipment Tier II SME's and participate in rotating equipment Root Cause Failure Analysis.  This role represents the company in the capacity of a licensed professional engineer and an industry recognized expert within this area of subject matter expertise.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with peers across Williams developing and implementing processes, procedures and standards for specifying, installing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, repairing, overhauling and/or replacing rotating equipment in support of safety, compliance, reliability, availability, expense reduction, throughput increase and efficiency goals.
  • Work with peers across Williams and provide training for the specification, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and replacement of rotating equipment.
  • Review and approve as appropriate, technical recommendations, within subject area expertise, to meet Operations or Commercial requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, within subject matter expertise, to ensure compliance of analysis and recommendations with industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent Williams in industry or technical organizations.
  • Identify new technologies or applications for Operating Areas (OA).
  • Advise and participate in technical presentations to Senior Leadership.
  • Participate in un-reviewed decisions and serve as a leader in technical areas.

 

 

Will lead the team that:

  • Leads efforts and project teams to improve operability, maintainability, and reliability of existing assets.
  • Oversee any rotating equipment activities of third party project managers, consulting engineers, construction inspectors, and contractors.
  • Participates in planning, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities. 
  • Utilizes computer modeling and data analysis tolls to aid in the evaluation, justification, and development of solutions to problems and/or opportunities.
  • Influences decisions that improve reliability and operability, reduce operating costs, and create a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Support the subject matter expert in decision making and potential project development.
  • Translates project plans into coherent, credible, realistic project schedules.
  • Prepares and provide schedule progress and risk reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis.
  • Provides technical support to all functional departments, as part of troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and optimization, during routine operations, start-up, and turnarounds.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for the overall coordination of process design inputs from other engineering disciplines.

 

 
Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Has a strong background in rotating equipment maintenance and support.
  • Has demonstrated a strong relationship with rotating equipment manufacturers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with engineers, technicians, and operations (maintenance) personnel.
  • Have computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple complex projects with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Possess the ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance on planning, scheduling, and engineering subjects.
  • Have the motivation and ability to question and improve existing processes.
  • Understand complex systems and be able to identify potential areas of improvement.

Qualifications:
A Successful Candidate Will:

  • BS in engineering required; advanced technical degree preferred.
  • PE or/and NCEES required certification preferred. Recognized as an industry expert within subject matter expertise.
  • 15+ years’ experience with either reciprocating engines/compressors or turbines/centrifugal compressors.
  • Skilled at leading trouble shooting problems for rotating equipment.
  • Experience mentoring, training and developing a diverse, motivated staff.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
