Serves primarily as the Gathering Compression Center of Excellence (GC COE) subject matter expert (SME) for GC-15 vessel fabrication inspection and shop auditing in addition to Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) duties. Develops and executes an effective vessel fabrication quality assurance strategy and ensures timely and accurate completion of vessel fabrication equipment projects through third-party vessel inspection specialists. Also reviews and approves fabricator welding procedures as needed for GC COE designs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of section VIII vessel quality assurance plans
  • Manage and provide technical oversight of third-party pressure vessel fabrication inspection resources
  • Review and approve fabricator welding procedures
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management and provide technical decisions with regard to the vendor qualification process
  • Vessel QA continuous improvement
  • Conduct fabricated vessel root cause analyses

 

Position will be accountable for:

  • Performance and results of a team within own or similar disciplines or departments
  • Performance and results of the third-party inspection
  • GC COE vessel design quality assurance
  • Proper weld procedure review and approval per code

 

Requirements:

  • 6+ years industry experience; preferred 10+ years technical experience
  • 3+ years of welding and pressure vessel fabrication inspection experience
  • 3+ years experience reviewing/auditing weld procedures to ASME Section IX.
  • API 510 Certification, preferred API 570
  • AWS – CWI
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Managing and supervising
  • Functional in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Prefer Quality Management: Lean, Six Sigma, etc
