Provides Williams’ Pipeline Safety and Integrity groups with ongoing regulatory and compliance support. Performs analytical, technical and general duties associated with the execution of the department’s regulatory responsibilities. Works under periodic supervision.  Performs varied tasks and projects of moderate complexity, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.  May perform internal audits or compliance audits of less complex auditable units.  Routine assignments completed independently.  May develop initial interpretation of laws and regulations, subject to subsequent review.  Able to apply economic evaluations and present recommendations.  This position also supports execution of the company’s Integrity Management Plans, provides documentation in internal and external audits, and involves building relationships with regulatory agencies.



  • Performs data management and quality checks
  • Provides on-going support with compliance issues including but not limited to: recordkeeping, submitting regulatory documents, performing Class Location Analysis & HCA Analysis, and supporting the Structure Verification process
  • Provide support for PHMSA, NPMS and applicable state annual reporting
  • Assist with data gathering in preparation for regulatory inspections
  • Assist with preparation of reports and presentations for internal requirements such as management, leadership meetings, industry association meetings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • All duties are to be performed in accordance with Williams’ Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines




  • At least 3 years experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) ArcMap with emphasis on manipulating and managing both geographic and tabular data originating from multiple sources using various software applications
  • Knowledge of gas pipeline Class Location and HCA requirements and processes
  • Knowledge of liquid pipeline HCA requirements and processes
  • Able to generate high quality maps which meet company standards using ArcMap and various add-on applications
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers and management by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients and other external contacts
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrate mid-level computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications.  Able to learn company-specific applications
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of PHMSA/State pipeline regulations, including; Texas RRC Pipeline Permits/Reports
  • Understanding of Microsoft BI
