Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our Non Regulated Property Accounting group in Tulsa, OK.  Under minimal guidance, the position is responsible for providing expertise and leadership in compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial information for management decision making. The position serves as liaison for internal/external customers and handles a diverse range of moderately complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a liaison with outsourcing vendor (IBM), business functional accounting managers, Engineering & Construction leaders and other departments as necessary to ensure accuracy of accounting data and to research/resolve outstanding project and property accounting issues.
  • Completes purchase order review and approval in a timely manner to ensure coding accuracy.
  • Reviews new projects in the ERP system for accurate setup and proper documentation.
  • Works closely with project managers to identify assets constructed and associated costs
  • Works closely with the project support group to ensure timely completion of in-service work orders.
  • Prepares monthly analysis of depreciation, accretion, asset retirement obligation and other property, plant and equipment account balances. This will include the preparation of daily updates of variance analysis and research during the close process.
  • Performs monitoring controls of IBM processes.
  • Ongoing review of project data to identify issues or discrepancies that could impact project or property reporting.  Research appropriate solutions and works closely with Engineering & Construction, Accounting and Information Management groups to implement changes and solutions.
  • Facilitates and prepares business financial statement flux explanations for outside auditors each quarter.
  • Performs reporting & analytic ad hoc requests.
  • Participates in various property accounting related projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field with emphasis in Accounting. Position requires at least four to six years of related experience with a strong preference for property accounting experience.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of detailed data and translate data into meaningful information.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    Self-starter with ability to establish and meet goals and objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in order to effectively interact and clearly communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Possess strong computer skills, including Excel spreadsheets. It is considered a plus if the candidate has a working knowledge of Oracle, Essbase and/or Powerplant.
  • Position will be filled commensurate with the successful candidates experience and background.
