Our organization is seeking an energetic Project Manager to join our Gathering Compression Execution team based at corporate headquarters, in Tulsa, OK. This role works closely with internal and external parties from front-end loading thru detailed design, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, start-up, and closeout. Project types include new midstream gathering compression facilities or additions to existing midstream gathering compression facilities such as Central Receipt Points (CRPs) / Compression Facilities (CF), central dehydration and liquids handling at gathering compression facilities.



  • Safely lead a project team in successfully executing midstream gathering compression (GC) projects, including new midstream gathering compression facilities or additions to existing midstream gathering compression facilities such as Central Receipt Points (CRPs) / Compression Facilities (CF), central dehydration and liquids handling at gathering compression facilities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external project team members and hold them accountable under the guidance of Williams’ core values and beliefs.
  • Develop project plans which include scope, cost, schedule, risk and contracting strategies.
  • Prepare, review, and present project reports, presentations, schedules and cost forecasts.
  • Prepare, review and approve requests for engineering and construction proposals, evaluations, and contractor selection.
  • Prepare, review and approve requests for equipment quotes, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
  • Review and approve invoices.
  • Review and approve long form contracts and requests for services.


Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Possess the ability to lead projects or programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve milestones and objectives with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Possess the ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance.
  • Be skilled in anticipating issues, gathering information, assessing risk, analyzing alternative solutions, and making decisions with some unknowns.
  • Have thorough knowledge of project management techniques and contract administration principles.
  • Be experienced with cost estimating and forecasting, scheduling, risk, earned value, and change management techniques and principles.
  • Understand complex systems including business or commercial drivers
  • Have some knowledge and experience but still acquiring higher-level knowledge and capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable in compression facility operations, construction, and design including piping design, separation, compression and dehydration.

A Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have 5+ years of industry specific project management or engineering experience, but still acquiring higher level knowledge and capabilities.
  • Have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both field employees and senior level staff.
  • Full understanding and use of the Project Life Cycle is a must.
  • Must have experience working for an oil and gas, pipeline or midstream owner / operating company.


A Successful Candidate May:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited institution in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Possess a PMP license.
  • Have compressor station design, construction, and operations experience preferred.
  • Have previous field experience in pipeline/compression with a transmission, midstream, or E&P company preferred.


  This position will require overnight travel to Williams assets between 25% and 50% of the time.
