Under general supervision, the Business Systems Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With this knowledge, oversees/facilitates the process to develop and/or modify moderately complex information systems. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. Guides and advises less-experienced Business Analysts. Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment. This role will require system administrator within various applications, which requires configuration work within the platform.  The system administrator configures workflows, forms and reports within the unifier environment. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.
  • Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
  • Evaluates new applications and identifies systems requirements.
  • Evaluates new IT developments and evolving business requirements, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
  • Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  • Gather requirements and work the project managers on various project plans

 

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Experience with the oil and gas industry
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • 8+ years of testing and quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of various databases and servers
  • Business acumen, specifically in leveraging dollars (making money or controlling costs)
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or MIS or related experience
  • Experience with Ecosys or Unifier not required but preferred
