IT Business System Analyst:   

 

This Business Analyst position is responsible for the Corporate Application area for the Audit business team and may provide support to other areas as needed.  In this position, the Business Partner will work to build strong relationships and collaboration between the Information Technology and Application Business Leader’s and team(s). 

 

This position formulates complex analysis of business goals and objectives to align with Information Technology’s best practice standards for delivering application services. The successful candidate will define systems scope through research and knowledge of both internal and external sources to meet applicable business system and industry requirements. The business analyst will oversee and facilitate the process to develop, modify and maintain moderately complex application systems.   

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with Leaders in the Audit business area
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and Business Partner between Information Technology Application and Infrastructure team(s) and Business/End user team(s)
  • Responsible for annual budget analysis and cost management for Audit Application area including projects, ongoing maintenance, support and licensing
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications to formulate technical solutions that conform to best practice standards
  • Conduct requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, making recommendations based on information collected
  • Ensure maintenance, development and enhancement of existing application systems meets the organizational business objectives and Information Technology standards
  • Remediate application system issues through appropriate troubleshooting, Incident, Change and Problem management standards using Service Now
  • Evaluate, develop and implement new application systems, developing technical requirements following standards for software development lifecycle
  • Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for cost reduction, avoidance, and improved application performance
  • Interact and resolve issues with other IT support teams including Applications, Infrastructure, and Outsource Provider
  • Modernize, upgrade and conduct application health checks as required to ensure system stability
  • Work with assigned resources to manage project related activities for assigned applications
  • Conduct system access reviews for application area
  • Advise and consult with other team members and outsource provider team members
  • Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
  • Prepare recurring application dashboard metrics and report to show analysis on specific key data points and provide cost transparency for applications

 

 

Key Success Factors:

Ability to work on cross functional teams in a matrix environment including outsourced teams

Possess understanding of application outsourcing support agreements

Understanding of SDLC Lifecycle/Project Management Methodologies

Familiarity with risk and compliance assessment methodologies and standards 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred/not required, Information Technology, MIS, or Audit discipline preferred

 

Industry knowledge is preferred Audit Functions, Audit Process, SOX, and/or Data Analytics

8-10 years relevant work experience:  Business Analyst, Audit, and/or Application Development experience required

Software Applications Preferred: Service-Now, SharePoint, Oracle, Hyperion, ACL, AuditLink, Open Pages, Accelus
