Engineer III

 

Our organization is seeking an energetic Engineer to join our Gathering Compression Execution team based at corporate headquarters, in Tulsa, OK. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the front end engineering package for all engineering and construction projects.  Offsite work will include but not be limited to collecting information, conducting site visits, equipment and process troubleshooting, construction technical support, supporting of commissioning, etc.  Project types include new midstream gathering compression facilities or additions to existing midstream gathering compression facilities such as Central Receipt Points (CRPs) / Compression Facilities (CF), central dehydration facilities, and liquids handling at gathering compression facilities. 

 

NOTE:  This position will require overnight travel to Williams’s assets between 25% and 50% of the time.

 

           Responsibilities:

  • Develop basic engineering packages for projects including plot plans, process flow diagram (PFD), piping and instrument diagram (P&ID), electric one line diagram, and major equipment list.
  • Develop and Provide FEED support for new and/or existing facilities using standard gathering compressor station designs where applicable
  • Produce cost estimates, project engineering schedules, and engineering execution plans for assigned projects. Draft scopes of work for engineering and construction contractors. 
  • Develop data sheets and specifications for equipment. 
  • Bid engineering and construction services (survey, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, piping, controls) and equipment vendor selections,
  • Oversee the work of engineering resources (internal SME's and third parties)
  • Review and approve design drawings, equipment selections, and vendor data.
  • Responsible for ensuring project designs achieve business objectives and comply with Williams Project Life Cycle and WIMS requirements
  • Work with COE to ensure a continuous improvement mindset and drive value back into the organization through objective value engineering feedback
  • Collaborate with others within the COE and lead cross-functional engineering teams to support facility design execution
  • Other related duties as assigned.

     

    Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Have some knowledge and experience but still acquiring higher-level knowledge and capabilities.
  • Applies conceptual knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Deepens knowledge of the company, processes, and customers while performing work related to the development of engineering packages.
  • Increased level of independence. Receives a moderate level of guidance. 
  • Have computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.
  • Knowledgeable in compression and pipeline design and analysis, familiar with industry standards, codes, practices and DOT safety regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in compression facility operations, construction, and design including piping design, separation, compression and dehydration.
  • Knowledgeable of production and gathering compression system operations and design including gas measurement, flow and pressure control, and regulation.
  • Knowledgeable of the Williams Project Life Cycle process.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn company specific software applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, solve a range of problems, motivated and result-oriented.

    Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Have minimum of 4 years of experience in natural gas gathering, transmission and/or production.
  • Compression, Process and Operations experience a plus.
  • Full understanding and use of the Project Life Cycle is a must.
  • Excellent communications and computer skills required.

      

    A Successful Candidate May:

  • Possess a PE license.
  • Have 3-5 years of compressor station design, construction, and operations experience preferred.
  • Have previous field experience in pipeline/compression with a transmission, midstream, or E&P company preferred.
