The IT Director of Enterprise Services will report directly to the CIO and is responsible for providing IT strategy, delivery and support for the corporate functional area (finance, HR, legal and audit) as well as for enterprise Business Intelligence, Collaboration, mobile and custom development solutions.  The Director will partner with the enterprise shared services organization to optimize the delivery of business processes to his or her dedicated business area.  The Director will be responsible for enterprise wide process design, implementation and optimization. The Director will establish excellent communication channels with leaders in Williams’ IT organization and with leaders in the business area to which he or she is aligned.  The Director will drive change management and enterprise wide program management related to IT strategies, programs and projects. The Director will provide leadership and direction to report managers as well as other team members. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops an approach to move the Enterprise applications to the Cloud (likely utilizing SaaS).  This may include building out a new support structure (Team, Process and Skills) and helping implement the new integration strategy
  • Continue strategic management of enterprise applications moving to the cloud with O365, Workday, ERP, Concur, Legal, Credit Risk, ServiceNow, Assurance, and Audit 
  • Continue Enterprise Development strategy for Mobile, Web, Azure, and create a plan to develop to facilitate common development process for these tools and resources. Develop deep understanding of the corporate functional area
  • Create a strategic roadmap for business area that aligns with overall IT strategy for the company
  • Ensure high level of shareholder alignment and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base of industry and technology trends as they apply to their area of responsibility
  • Employ in-depth knowledge of program and project management methodologies and tools, resource-management practices and change-management techniques. Ability to analyze and apply new methodology practices at the enterprise level
  • Oversee the application outsourcing strategy for the organization
  • Creates an environment that respects and values diverse people and ideas and demonstrates commitment by supporting strategies related to recruiting, promoting, training, developing and counseling employees
  • Evaluates and reviews information systems project feasibility based on business and management priorities
  • Develops long-term IT strategy tied to business unit goals and plans
  • Responsible for financial aspects of IT including budgeting, cost analysis and variance reporting, as well as for benchmarking IT services
  • Manage a high performing team of managers, business analysts and project managers
  • Establishes goals and direction for subordinates and provides needed resources, training, leadership and performance feedback
  • Initiates process improvements by participating in formal teams and demonstrates innovation and leadership by recognizing opportunities for new and different approaches and implementing the resulting process improvements

 

Experience and Background:

 

  • Degree in related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 15 years of experience in IT with at least four years delivering IT to corporate functions
  • Strong knowledge of technology trends and ability to translate those trends into effective business applications
  • Experience in SaaS cloud-based solution delivery and support
  • Exemplary vendor management skills
  • Experience in application development and support practices
  • Experience in related industry: energy, construction, infrastructure services is a plus
  • Very strong knowledge of business processes in corporate functional area
  • Experience partnering successfully with corporate executives recommending improvements to the technology roadmap
  • Experience working in an IT organization that has outsourced several major functions
  • Experience developing and maintaining strategic initiatives, including evaluations of current environment for risk and cost
  • Successful record of delivering enterprise solutions using practical technologies
  • Experience delivering effective and timely completion of budgets, resource allocations, team members’ individual development plans, objectives and performance reviews
  • Ability to manage a team of managers, business analysts, project managers and other delivery professionals, including to provide matrix leadership to professionals in Williams’ shared IT services organization
  • Robust and persuasive professional manner, with highly developed interpersonal and management skills
  • Proven ability to think and communicate strategically about technology
  • Adaptable and with the intellectual agility to thrive in a demanding, fast moving and customer focused environment
