Williams is seeking a highly motivated hands on Database Analyst responsible for implementing and

maintaining Oracle & SQL Server database systems. This position works closely with the Application Development team to provide solutions to satisfy complex business needs and provide production database support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors daily operations of Oracle and SQL Server databases for reliability, performance, and

    accessibility.

  • Write proactive scripts, stored procedures, and jobs to insure databases are running efficiently.
  • Create/Maintain data models
  • Manage Oracle application schemas for applications; maintain table structures, create/maintain

    database triggers, create indexes, sequences, and procedures as needed.

  • Assist with writing and debugging complex SQL, where necessary, to incorporate database

    requests into application programs

  • Responsible for promotion of database objects to production.
  • Assist with data management including schema refreshes and migrations.
  • Run schema downloads from production to nonproduction environments.
  • Run schema compares and manage schema synchronization.
  • Verify database statistics and update as needed
  • Verify index fragmentation and rebuild the indexes as needed
  • Review security access, created roles accounts accessing application database objects, and

    manage data object permissions.

  • Writes scripts and jobs supporting database backup and recovery, maintenance, and integrity.
  • Work with the DBA team on backup and recovery plans to insure Oracle and SQL Server databases

    are recoverable from daily and disaster situations.

  • Advises, educates, and works with application developers explaining SQL queries, changing SQL
  • code, and reviewing database parameters in support of performance problems and troubleshooting. Advises, educates, and works with application developers to implement physical database designs

    and migrate database changes supporting project related efforts.

  • Work with the DBA team on necessary installation, updating and configuring of databases in

    support of business changes.

  • Provides, documents, and maintains database standards, policies and procedures for effective

    operation, access, and control of all Oracle and SQL Server databases.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS, or equivalent work experience
  • + 8-10 years of Oracle (versions 11g and 12c) experience
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL 2000/05/08
  • Working knowledge of configuration, installation, patching, and upgrades of relational databases
  • Working knowledge of database performance tuning and backup/recovery processes
  • Working knowledge of stored procedures, scripts, etc.
  • Must be able to mentor and provide technical guidance to Application Developers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be results driven, able to multitask, and have the ability to execute efficiently on a variety of projects concurrently

This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate.

 

Williams will consider paying relocation costs associated for this position.
