The Damage Prevention Specialist III is responsible for supporting the implementation, enforcement, and administration of various damage prevention and related public awareness programs at Williams.  This position is the primary company contact for all One Call systems and related industry organizations.  The specialist will ensure compliance is maintained, performance is documented & monitored, and improvements are developed for all damage prevention related activities.  The specialist will be the corporate subject matter expert for all subjects related to one call systems, locate request tickets, facility damage reporting, DIRT, damage prevention laws, Damage Prevention Procedures and training, ticket management applications, one call memberships, 811 related outreach and other damage prevention and excavation safety related topics. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with 49 CFR 192, 195 and API RP 1162 related to damage prevention. Assist with internal audits and external state and federal inspections.
  • Administer and manage the One Call ticket applications across the enterprise.
  • Provide support to field staff with questions related to One Call ticket applications, line locates, One Call laws and other damage prevention related questions. 
  • Administer and manage company membership’s and dispatch codes with every state One Call agency in which we operate.
  • Review and analyze all reports of damage/near miss and work with Operations on investigations. 
  • Manage the DIRT database of incidents for annual submission. 
  • Prepare and submit state level damage and near miss reporting.
  • Manage the suite of corporate Damage Prevention procedures. 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of training employees on the Damage Prevention procedures.
  • Produce Damage Prevention trending metrics to Management & Operations evaluating damage/near miss data with One Call ticket data by area, franchise and district.  Liaison across other departments to identify trends and reduce risk.
  • Represent the company in Damage Prevention industry associations/events to identify collaboration opportunities and industry best practices.  Assist with public awareness efforts as needed.

 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, EHS or similar technical discipline. 
  • Previous experience managing a One Call or similar ticket management system.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the energy industry preferably natural gas. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting operations and other groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with PHMSA DOT compliance.
  • Ability to solve problems in a practical and efficient manner.
  • Ability to collaborate and productively influence decisions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in order to support multiple groups.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative to enhance work processes.
