Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Asset Performance Engineer Sr. to join our workforce. The role will be located in Tulsa, OK at corporate headquarters. This position will be an engineering and technical resource within the Asset Performance and Benchmarking group. The primary responsibility of this role is to create and apply operating performance analysis methods which will optimize the value of Williams’ assets. This position will also be responsible for creating and maintaining technical analysis in support of Williams’ groups.




  • Become a subject matter expert on the various applications of the PI System.
  • Lead and direct technical initiatives/projects and coordinate key functions with internal and external technical resources.
  • Create and maintain technical analysis utilizing software systems for various Williams groups:
    • Operating Areas - create and maintain plant, pipeline and equipment performance analysis tools.
    • Subject Matter Experts - create and maintain various types of analysis templates for rotating and fixed equipment.
    • EH&S subject matter experts - create and maintain various types of environmental analysis and emission controls monitoring on Williams facilities.
  • Lead efforts to improve operability, maintainability, and the reliability of existing assets.
  • Create exception based reports to identify operating exceptions for various technical analysis created for equipment performance, gathering system performance and environmental compliance.
  • Utilize the PI System in conjunction with predictive analytics and machine learning techniques to aid in the evaluation, justification and development of solutions to problems and/or opportunities.
  • Supports subject matter experts to aid in decision making.
  • Understand the economic drivers of the technical analysis being developed and incorporate them into the studies.
  • Establish good working relationships with subject matter experts.
  • Present recommendations supported by sound engineering and operational efficiency and effectiveness that support Williams’ reliability targets.
  • Must show a consistent ability to meet set deadlines.
  • Provide active input in developing and implementing a successful strategy for Williams.

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with engineers, technicians, and operations (maintenance) personnel.
  • Have computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.

A Successful Candidate Will:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years technical and operations experience, preferably engineering or technical experience in a pipeline and/or plant environment; gas processing, NGL, or petrochemical plant experience will be highly valued;
  • Must possess an aptitude for economics and analysis.
  • Broad experience in gas gathering, processing and transmission operations, project management, and project development.
  • Experience conceptualizing viable technical solutions, analyzing technical problems, and developing, implementing and maintaining technical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate at various levels across organizational boundaries, and influence others without hierarchical authority.
  • Valued skills include:
    • SQL, ladder logic, advanced programming languages (C#, R, Python) 
    • Ability to quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all;
    • Consult with others and use their input effectively and constructively;
    • Anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
