Our Organization is seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician III to be part of our Transco Pipeline located in our Stockbridge, GA location.  As an Operations Technician at Williams, the successful candidate will be responsible for the handling of natural gas as related to turbine engines, electric motors and compression along with the maintenance and troubleshooting of all related subsystems, including start/stop, safety shutdown and combustion controls.

 

Requirement

  • Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person’s commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants.  The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot fire detection systems, fixed gas detection systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), transmitters, transducers, ESD/EBD systems, alarms and shutdown devices, pneumatic and electrical control circuits, and DC Systems including Battery Chargers.
  • Periodically work with the mechanical team to operate and maintain natural gas pipeline equipment, which includes mainline and station valves, engine/compressors, along with electric motors and equipment.
  • Some administrative duties such as:  monitoring, scheduling and documenting operations and maintenance activities.
  • Purchase, maintain and track material inventory.
  • Compile and maintaining station operating data for monthly operating reports and scorecard data, and entering data into the Operations Management System (OMS).
  • Support project development and execution while working with cross-functional teams in engineering & construction, technical services, management, and compliance groups.

 

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma required;  Associate's or Technical school degree preferred
  • Associate degree in instrumentation, controls technology, electronics, or mechanical is preferred.
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming.  (Allen Bradley, Honeywell, Siemens, etc.).
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and electronics, including reading and interpreting pneumatic and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of rotating /reciprocating equipment: pumps, engines, compressors.
  • Knowledge of low/medium voltage equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed and to work routine on-call rotations.
  • Possess a valid state driving license and an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat.
  • Ability to carry and lift items that can weigh 50lbs.
  • Willingness to occasionally work in extremely hot and cold temperatures.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
