Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician III to be part of our Seminary, Mississippi team. As an Operations Technician at Williams, the successful candidate will be responsible for handling of natural gas as related to Reciprocating and turbine engines/compression along with the maintenance and troubleshooting of all related subsystems, including start/stop, safety shutdown and combustion controls. This position will be based in Seminary, Mississippi but perform duties across the assigned district.



  • Perform preventive pipeline facility maintenance and work described under the job progression system for the pipeline technician job family. This equipment includes maintenance & repairs on engines, compressors, pumps, motors, valves, generation, air compressors, meter stations, pipeline facilities, and corrosion control along with right-of-way maintenance.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all related subsystems which include: starting, stopping, shutdowns, and safety systems
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all meter stations, pipeline facilities, corrosion inspection, and right of ways (ROW)
  • Handle facility encroachment activities which include pipe location, excavation, and inspection which result from one-call notifications and/or direct calls.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possess adequate PC skills.
  • Interact with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, and contractors.
  • After hour work as needed and routine on-call rotations are mandatory with some out of area travel requirements.

  • Possess a high school diploma
  • Have an intermediate knowledge level of Operations experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations nights, and weekend shifts
  • Provide the ability to work both in a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision
  • Possess a valid state driving license and an excellent driving record
  • Demonstrate safety as the utmost priority
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with government agencies, landowners, and contractors
  • Participate in Williams’ Operations Technician Progression Program
  • Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and PC Skills
  • Be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods of time
  • Be able to carry and lift items that can weigh 50lbs or more
  • Be willing to work in extremely hot and cold temperatures

  • Possess an Associates’ or two (2) year degree in mechanical, instrumentation, and/or related field
  • Previously worked in and/or around the oil and gas industry
  • Possess at least 5 years’ experience
