Our organization is seeing a highly skilled Measurement Engineer to be a member of our Salt Lake City, Utah Operations Technical Services team.  Reporting to the Manager of Operations Technical Services, the primary purpose of the Measurement Engineer is to provide technical support in the areas of measurement, pressure regulation and overpressure protection.  This includes troubleshooting daily operational concerns as well as other scheduled project management and commissioning tasks. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and provide excellent customer service
  • Provide engineering guidance and support to field operations in the areas of measurement, pressure regulation and overpressure protection
  • Review and participate in the development of Company programs, policies and standards
  • Participate in industry meetings and act as a representative of Williams
  • Manage all aspects of various measurement, pressure regulation and overpressure protection related projects including concept development, preparation of estimates, detailed engineering design, material acquisition, drawing development, contract development, material acquisition, installation, commissioning, forecast project expenditures etc.
  • Hazardous area classification
  • Support NWP meter station interconnect program
  • Support NWP Remote Terminal Unit upgrade program
  • Support NWP relief valve capacity study and resulting projects
  • Maintain OPP database and annual capacity verification Adhere to company specifications, policies, and procedures
  • Available to work after hours to aid and assist others to help troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Determine root cause of failures and problems with regulation and measurement equipment and propose solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the natural gas industry
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties
  • Strong analytical, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work after hours as needed
  • Ability to work in both a team setting and individually with minimal supervision
  • Possess an intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), with the ability to learn other company specific applications
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering registration
  • Familiarity with AGA measurement standards
  • Familiarity with API and ASME gas sizing equations for gas measurement, pressure control and relieving devices
  • Ladder logic or function block programming
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and Fisher ROC FST programming
