Hear from our employees on why they chose a career at Williams:

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled System Planning Engineer based in Pittsburgh to join our workforce.  The primary function of this position is to provide hydraulic information in the form of hydraulic models of a natural gas gathering system that reflects monthly average conditions using measurement and operational data.

You will use Synergi modeling software as your primary tool.  This monthly model needs to accurately reflect volumes and pressures at key points in the gathering system such as the wellhead, compressor sites and plant inlet.  With these models, further analysis can be made to find optimization opportunities, review producer drilling program updates or system enhancement projects/ideas.  The system planner is also expected to own the volume forecast for their given area and continuously update with the latest information from commercial and operations regarding future volume in the system.

This position will work closely with the commercial development team as well as operations and Engineering Services stakeholders.  Key contacts with other system planning personnel will be maintained across the organization. Building working relationships with field personnel involved with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the gas system is a key success factor in this role.  Sharing the model results will provide feedback and ideas for additional analysis. Field visits are expected to help accomplish this and will gain experience and knowledge of the gas system.

Additional travel will be needed to participate in customer workgroup meetings at the field or corporate offices.  These visits provide opportunities to share finding, discuss ideas, define additional what-if scenarios, and collaborate with planners or engineers and build close working relationships. Travel will be necessary for software training and user group conferences or other technical events.
