The Northeast Technical Services team is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Project Manager to join our team in support of project completions across the Operating Area in all four franchises.  The role will be located in Pittsburgh, PA and will serve as both a process owner and a source of project management support to Operations, Tech Services, and Engineering Services, accountable for ensuring that the Facility Completions Process Standard is applied consistently, efficiently, and safely across all greenfield and brownfield projects in the Northeast from inception to in-service.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a project specific Completions Execution Plan (CEP) for all larger greenfield and brownfield projects in the Northeast, especially for major facilities (e.g. compressor stations)
  • Ensure that the Facility Completions Process Standard is applied consistently across the Northeast
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Completions Lead and Project Manager to ensure the Facility Completions Process Standard is applied consistently across the Northeast and to:
    • Assemble and lead project specific commissioning team(s)
    • Scale the completions execution strategy within the limits of the standard and per the size and scope of the project
    • Develop and manage a completions budget and schedule within the overall project framework
    • Provide completions scope for engineering, procurement, and construction contracts
    • Define efficient but thorough systems/subsystems
    • Attend or ensure appropriate representatives are at Factory Acceptance Tests
    • Manage and ensure that all punchlist items are appropriately addressed
    • Produce Systems Turnover Completions Package
    • Verify individual System and entire Facility Mechanical Completion
  • Attend Project Team meetings, design reviews, and PHAs
  • Conduct regular project site visits, especially during construction and commissioning activities
  • Verify completion of commissioning and provide signature for Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
  • Utilize lean principles to eliminate waste and continuously improve the completions process
  • Conduct lessons learned at appropriate times and incorporate findings and best practices into Facility Completions Process Standard through WIMS Change Requests
  • Understand and adopt/share best practices across Operating Areas and become the Northeast single point-of-contact for completions related initiatives
  • Remain current on completions management technology solutions and implement as approved
  • Collaborate with enterprise functions to ensure that all aspects of facility completions are included in the CEP (e.g. Measurement, Finance & Property Accounting, Maintenance & Reliability, etc.)
  • Ensure alignment among all project completions stakeholders (Operations, Tech Services, franchise leadership, Engineering Services, etc.)

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related area
  • 7+ years experience in the energy, utilities, or other process industry with a solid understanding of project completions in facilities
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in natural gas related projects
  • Proven experience in influencing, organizing, leading and developing a functionally and geographically diverse workforce.
  • Working knowledge of lean leadership behaviors, tools, and mindset
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: Operations, Engineering/Design, Project Management, and Construction.
