Summary and Purpose

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician II to be a member of our Pearsall, Texas Team. Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, the primary purpose of the Operations Technician is to be responsible for the safe day-to-day operations of the Pearsall Plant.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Embrace safety and environmental compliance as a number one priority. Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person's commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants. 
  • Ensure the facility is operated and maintained in compliance with all company and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records, service reports and other documents and functions as requires.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate equipment failures and equipment health analysis while overseeing all daily maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in data gathering, reporting functions, plant start-ups, plant shut downs, maintenance tasks and assist in justifying future projects.
  • Work primarily a 7-on/7-off shift, but also work overtime, during nights, weekends and holidays. Available and qualified to work on-call rotations.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, observe all safety requirements and actively strive to provide a safe work environment for company employees, customers, contractors and the public
  • Provide leadership and communicate company safety expectations to customers, contractors and the public
  • Perform preventive pipeline facility maintenance and work described under the job progression system for the pipeline technician job family Participant in planning maintenance and troubleshooting activities for the gas facility
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all related subsystems which include: starting, stopping, shutdowns, and safety systems
  • Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, moderate to high-complexity assignments that would require technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience within operations and/or the oil and gas industry
  • Able and willing to work a 7 on 7 Off Rotating Shift Schedule
  • Ability to identify and promptly act upon of efficiently organizes any efforts needed to address safety and operational efficiencies with the protection of community, personnel, environment and assets in mind.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills, as well as, strong mechanical aptitude and skills
  • Possess a valid state driving license and good driving record
  • Exhibit a collaborative, pro-active team player capable of working effectively between functional disciplines.
  • Demonstrate willingness to listen, learn and adapt from management and senior operations staff.
  • Ability to wear safety gear, protective equipment, gloves, uniforms and other articles of safety clothing or gear as required by OSHA,DOT, and/or state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interact with a variety of internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of general computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), with the ability to learn company specific software programs.
  • Ability to work both in a team setting and be self-motivated with a willingness and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Be willing and able to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, and weekend shifts. This may require working holidays.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associates or 2 year Technical Degree in Mechanics, Electronics, or related field
  • Previous Operations experience within the natural gas industry.
  • Natural gas pipeline and plant maintenance experience
