Summary and Purpose

Our organization is seeking a highly qualified Asset Integrity Specialist III for the Eagle Ford operating area, which operates assets across south Texas. Reporting to the Supervisor of Asset Integrity, the primary purpose of the Asset Integrity Specialist is to provide technical support for internal and external corrosion controls, maintain the integrity of pipelines and vessels, as well as, maintain a safe and environmentally friendly atmosphere.
 

Location and Area of Responsibility

  • The Asset Integrity Specialist will be responsible for approximately 580 miles of pipeline from our Pearsall, Texas office. Area of responsibility spans Batesville, Dilley and Catarina, Texas.
  • The successful candidate is encouraged to reside in or around the area of responsibility with the furthest northern locations being south and west San Antonio, Texas.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
Cathodic Protection (CP)

  • Perform periodic pipeline and facility inspections/surveys
  • Complete all necessary documentation
  • Ensure readings and records are in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
  • Support the successful completion of regulatory audits
  • Install and maintain all cathodic protection facilities;
  • Perform tests for cathodic protection system design and mitigate any problems
  • Coordinate cathodic protection construction projects (cathodic protection and reconditioning (recoating);
  • Pipeline integrity surveys which include direct assessments and close interval surveys;
  • Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits
  • Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of Williams External Corrosion program standards

     

    Internal Corrosion Program

  • Be able to review and understand all internal corrosion data, including but not limited to corrosion coupons, bacteria analysis, water analysis
  • Understanding of calculating chemical injection rates or willing to work towards
  • Understanding of calculating batch and slug treatments or willing to work towards
  • Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of Williams Internal Corrosion program standards

     

In-Line Inspection (Note:  ILI projects are managed by Asset Integrity Engineer)

  • Support AI Engineer during ILI runs
  • Support AI Engineer during correlation/anomaly digs
  • Review ILI data with AI Engineer
  • Assessment of any corrosion related findings   

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Internal corrosion assessment and mitigation as required
  • Be able to determine if a cathodic protection system meets the PHMSA part 192 or 195 criteria.
  • This position is primarily a field position and requires the physical capability of traversing rugged terrain on foot when required, with occasionally carrying heavy loads of up to 30lbs in a field environment with the ability to conduct pipeline inspections in rough terrain.
  • Absorb, adapt and execute additional responsibilities commensurate to the position as requested by supervisor or required by other management decisions
  • The successful candidate is expected to attend training courses and conferences to stay current on pipeline integrity evaluation methods and technology and actively participate in the continuing development and improvement of Williams´ corrosion program.
  • Have basic to intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications, (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..), with the ability to become proficient with all corrosion software (Pipeline Toolbox, RSTRENG, CPDM/PCS and ILI vendor software)
  • Travel outside the normal operating area up to 10%
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills
  • Be able to work in both a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision
  • Interface with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, contractors, etc...
  • Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and trigonometry

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Four (4) years of oil & gas pipeline experience or related corrosion control work
  • NACE CP Level II CP Technician certification
  • NACE CIP Level I or NACE Internal Corrosion Technologist or NACE Corrosion Technician
  • High Level knowledge of external corrosion mitigation
  • Intermediate level of internal corrosion mitigation
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a two (2) year technical degree and/or four (4) year degree in Engineering, Math or Science
  • Possess eight (8) years of oil & gas pipeline experience or related corrosion control work
  • Possess NACE Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist certification
  • Possess a NACE CP Level III CP Technologist certification
