Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our workforce. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide engineering support along with providing technical leadership.  The Engineer will be supporting Process Safety Management efforts, as well as providing recommendations and solutions for proposed facility and pipeline growth projects and in-service asset maintenance and reliability projects.  



  • Manage the Process Safety Information for multiple compressor facilites.

  • Participate in incident investigations as a lead or team member, and ensures appropriate follow up on area hazard/near miss and incident reporting.

  • Participate in PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), HSR (Hazard Screen Review) and MOC (Management of Change) process to help identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. 

  • Coordinate and participate in internal PSM assessments and required assurance audits and assist area with development and implementation of gap closure.

  • Support the Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator, Operations Supervisors, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Operations Technicians and coordinates with other functional groups to ensure that Process Safety Management information is available and in compliance with the Williams Integrated Management System (WIMS) and OSHA standards.

  • Develop and provide front end engineering design support for existing facilities using applicable internal and industry standards while following a standard workflow process.

  • Oversee the work of engineering resources (internal SME's and third parties).

  • Translate project plans into coherent, credible, realistic project schedules and budgets.

  • Provide technical support to all functional departments, as part of early design, regulatory compliance, front end planning, and project execution, throughout the project life cycle.

  • Lead efforts and project to improve operability, maintainability, and reliability of existing assets.

  • Utilize computer modeling and data analysis tools to aid in the evaluation, justification, and development of solutions to problems and/or opportunities


Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledgeable in Process Safety Management elements.

  • Knowledgeable in compression facility operations, construction, and design including piping design, separation, compression and dehydration.

  • Possess the ability to manage multiple complex projects with a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Deepens knowledge of the company, processes, and customers while performing work related to the development of engineering packages.

  • Have the motivation and ability to improve existing processes.

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.

  • Understand complex systems and be able to identify potential areas of improvement.  

  • Able to utilize Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and other applicable documentation to review process systems and determine process safety impacts.

  • A Successful Candidate Will:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other technical field.

  • Have 4-5 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Process Safety Management, behavior based safety and industry best practices.

  • Have experience in gathering pipeline and gathering compressor station operations.
