Our organization is seeking an energetic engineer to join our talented workforce.   This position will be a part of the Technical Services team based in Canton, Ohio. The role of a technical services engineer is to provide daily engineering support, assist facility and gathering system planning by sharing past operating experience, troubleshoot and problem solve complex issues related to gas gathering systems and facilities, and implement improvements so that the assets become more reliable, safe, and efficient.

 

The Utica Supply Hub business area gathers and transports natural gas and produced fluids (water and condensate) via pipelines, and compresses and dehydrates the gas before delivering to downstream transporters. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform project development tasks (identification, scope, initial front end design, prioritization, and capital expense budgeting and forecasting) for maintenance or growth capital projects that arise out of Operations’ needs. 
  • Design tasks may include selecting and sizing equipment, specifying materials, developing drawings with support from drafting, procuring third party engineering services, and soliciting bids from vendors and contractors. 
  • Work closely with Engineering Services Project Execution (who executes all projects) and Operations to ensure operations support projects are executed, commissioned, and fully transitioned into Operations, effectively. 
  • Analyze equipment and system performance, throughput, reliability, and availability. 
  • Coordinate efforts to improve facilities or gathering system efficiencies and reduce operating costs. 
  • Conduct timely Root Cause Failure Analyses and assist Operations in technical troubleshooting; drive resulting findings to conclusion. 
  • Function as technical resource and occasionally lead investigations on equipment bad actors and process safety deviations; drive resulting findings to conclusion. 
  • Develop economic analyses and make recommendations on process improvements within the gathering system and facilities. 
  • Provide process engineering modeling support for facilities. 
  • Provide hydraulic pipeline modeling support for the gathering system. 
  • Provide technical assistance for regulatory compliance, safety support, and technical training initiatives. 
  • Function as an engineering resource for Process Safety Management elements including: Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Facility Siting, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, Operating Procedures, Mechanical Integrity, and Incident Investigation; take the lead role on occasion. 
  • Develop and maintain Process Safety Information for all facilities. 
  • Support Operations as the engineering resource for Job Planning and Lockout/Tagout. 
  • Provide technical input to planning and implementation of facility or pipeline maintenance, facility turnaround work, and sometimes coordinate such planned work with outside parties. 
  • Identify, support, and/or implement audit action items, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and process improvement event outcomes.

  • Technical Software such as Process modeling (ProMax, HYSYS, Aspen, etc.), Hydraulic modeling (SynerGEE, etc.), Arc-GIS

Qualifications: 

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Controls preferred).
  • Have 4+ years in the oil and gas/energy industry with a working knowledge of gas gathering operations, facilities, and process safety.
  • Have the ability to collaborate with operations technicians, safety specialists, and other frontline employees to identify and improve operational conditions.
  • Have experience in two or more of the following areas: Operations, Engineering/Design, Project Management, Business Development, Construction, Process Safety, and Environmental.
