Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician to be part of our Transco Pipeline staff located in Neshanic Station, NJ.  As an Operation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating pipeline facilities.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person's commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants.  The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards.
  • Perform preventive pipeline facility maintenance, which requires strong mechanical skills.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot fire detection systems, fixed gas detection systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), transmitters, transducers, ESD/EBD systems, alarms and shutdown devices, pneumatic and electrical control circuits, and DC Systems including Battery Chargers.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all meter stations, pipeline facilities, corrosion, and right of ways (ROW).
  • Learn and participate in all modes of compressor station operations.
  • Available and qualified to work on-call rotations.
  • Handle facility encroachment activities which include pipe location, excavation, and inspection which result from one-call notifications and/or direct calls.
  • Maintain and/or operate all pipeline facilities including:  Valves, Piping, Pigging Activities, Right-of-Ways, Inspection of third party activities, Meter Stations and Regulator Stations.

 

Qualifications:

Basic/Required

  • Have a High school diploma or equivilent.
  • Possess at least one (1) year experience in mechanical and/or controls systems.
  • Exhibit a collaborative, pro-active team player capable of working effectively between functional disciplines.
  • Be self-motivated with a willingness and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess basic to intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..) and PC skills
  • Requires participation in Williams’s Operations Development Plan (ODP)
  • Be able to walk, bend, crawl, climb ladders, scaffolds, work in extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise and enclosed spaces and lift items that weigh more than 45lbs
  • Reside 30-45min from Station location

 

Preferred

  • Have an Associate's or two-year technical school degree in mechanical, electronic or related field.
  • Previous controls experience.
  • Natural gas pipeline or maintenance experience.
