Our organization is seeking an energetic engineer to join our talented workforce.   This position will be a part of the Technical Services team based in Moundsville, West Virginia.   The role of a technical services engineer is to participate in the optimization of gas processing, condensate stabilization, NGL fractionation, gathering systems, and compression applications so that the assets become more reliable, safe, and efficient.  This engineer would provide daily engineering support and guidance, optimize existing assets, support compliance and process safety efforts, and scope/execute efficiency and maintenance projects. The Ohio River Supply Hub business area gathers and transports natural gas and condensate via pipelines, recovers NGL from natural gas through cryogenic process, and fractionates NGL into purity product.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day performance monitoring, optimization and technical input/guidance to Operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, analysis, and engineering modeling support for facility & gathering system.
  • Participate in facility engineering reviews, design reviews, Process Hazard Analysis, Layer of Protection Analysis, model reviews, etc.
  • Participate in planning and forecasting; identify and lead opportunities and appropriate adjustments. Interface with Project Development teams on scope and review of opportunities and new projects. 
  • Provide higher level technical support/guidance or lead broader initiatives such as PSV Studies or complex dynamic modeling.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system balances; provide measurement engineering support.
  • Participate in design, planning, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities.
  • Process simulation and hydraulic modeling.
  • Perform economic analysis of projects or systems, and analysis of contracts, revenue, and operating costs.
  • May execute efficiency and maintenance projects.
  • Facilitates, participates, evaluates, and guides PHA, LOPA, SIS Design/Maintenance for consistency and accuracy. Develops appropriate guidance, training, etc.
  • Facilities, coordinates, and drives Facility Siting Study consistency, accuracy and compliance.
  • Evaluates risk and process safety considerations for changes and/or compliance.
  • Facilities, evaluates, and participates in Incident Investigations for consistency and identification of broader trends, recommendations, or gaps.

 

 

Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Have advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office
  • The preferred successful candidate would have in-depth knowledge of the natural gas processing and gathering, NGL Fractionation, Condensate processing and handling, etc.
  • Preferred candidate will understand industry and operating requirements around Oil & Gas Industry, and applicable codes, standards and regulations.
  • Have technical knowledge and experience around equipment such as rotating equipment, heat exchangers, process & gathering pipe, direct fired heater, process control and instrumentation, electrical power, pressurized vessel, measurement equipment.
  • Understand and use engineering modeling applications such as VMG (process simulation) and Synergi (hydraulic modeling) and economic evaluation tools.
  • Understand process safety aspects and related compliance requirements.
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide range of responsibilities largely independently involving a broad spectrum of internal customers and functional groups.

Qualifications:

A Successful Candidate Will:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Preferred candidate will have 8 to 10+ years’ experience in oil and gas industry. 
  • Have advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office

A Successful Candidate May:

  • Possess a Professional Engineering license. 
  • Have an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
