Summary and Purpose 

The Pipeline Technician II is responsible for the basic day-to-day operations of the gathering and jurisdictional pipelines and associated facilities in a manner that fully supports the Williams Midstream Vision and Objectives. The Pipeline Technician ensures that the pipeline systems and facilities are in compliance with the Williams Midstream Safety Policy and Procedure and applicable Regulatory requirements.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all Safety Polices and industry safety standards
  • Identify and report safety hazards, actively strive to provide a Safe work environment for company employees, customers, contractors and the public, and set an example for less experienced coworker.
  • Adhere to all company Fleet Policy guidelines.
  • Perform routine ROW maintenance, pipeline marker maintenance and completion of DOT/Company documentation.
  • Plan and perform maintenance activities for gas pipelines, dehydration equipment, overpressure protection devices, separation, compression and other related appurtenances
  • Assist in trouble shooting and repair work of gas pipelines, dehydration equipment, overpressure protection devices, separation, compression and other related appurtenances
  • Report daily operations data on spreadsheets and databases to track and analyze compressor runtime, pipeline efficiencies, pigging schedules, DOT compliance issues and O&M costs.
  • Assist in overseeing contractor work performance and their adherence to company safety policies.
  • Monitor Locates in accordance with the State Pipeline Locate System and perform locate assignments assuring proper use of line locating equipment
  • Assist in the use of Pipeline Leak Survey equipment and ensure the proper documentation.
  • Assist in the use of the Williams Midstream GIS Systems and ensure good communication with GPS Updates.
  • Assist in the internal and external pipeline corrosion programs and the proper documentation.
  • Assist in mentoring and training less experienced coworkers in pipeline operations
  • Develop knowledge of the GIS Systems and assist in communication with GPS Updates.
  • Develop knowledge of the measurement and compression disciplines and assist as needed.
  • To be available for callouts and nonstandard work schedules.
  • Work as a liaison between ACMP internal and external customers for project development.
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Any associate who drives a company or personal vehicle for Company business must possess a valid driver licenses and follow all guidelines that are outlined in the Company’s Fleet Policy.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to work with all levels of co-workers, internal and external customers.
  • Must possess good communication skills including written reports, oral and email.
  • Must be a team player as well as a goal-oriented individual who functions with the highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of pipeline operations procedures.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications.  Able to learn company specific applications
  • Any associate who drives a company or personal vehicle for Company business must possess a valid driver licenses and follow all guidelines that are outlined in the Company’s Fleet Policy.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

 

Education & Work Experience Required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of industry experience.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in troubleshooting compression, dehydration and associated facility equipment.
  • Experience in PHMSA Guidelines
