Operations Technician II

We are currently searching for an experienced technician to perform tasks related to the operation and maintenance of natural gas gathering, processing and treating facilities, and related equipment. This position will be based out of the Willow Creek plant near Rifle, Colorado. 


**Please Note:  The successful candidate must reside in New Castle, Silt, Rifle, Parachute, Meeker, or the Rangely, CO area.**


  • Operate, inspect, and maintain natural gas gathering and processing systems and related equipment
  • Perform gathering system operations and maintenance assignments including pipeline pigging, and new well connects.
  • Manage third party encroachment activities to prevent damage to gathering system pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems with valves, pumps and associated equipment.
  • Work individually or in a team environment and be self-motivated to independently complete skill requirements and training.
  • Utilize evaluation, innovation, and judgment to improve operations and maintenance practices and enhance system performance.
  • Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person's commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants.  The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards.
  • Have knowledge of and adhere to site specific operating and maintenance procedures including development of new procedures
  • Follow and support Williams Core Values and Beliefs, Environmental, Health and Safety and Compliance policies and practices.


  • Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance/troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, CMMS (Maximo) and possess adequate PC skills.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat and be able to carry and lift items that can weigh 50lbs.
  • Willing to occasionally work in extremely hot and cold temperatures.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed and routine on-call rotations.
  • Ability to solve problems and complete assignments while working independently and/or in a team environment.



  • Prior experience with natural gas processing and treating processes
  • Natural gas gathering system maintenance and operations
