The purpose of the Conway Fractionator Operations Technician position is to provide increased support and efficiency for the Conway Operations group through product integrity, customer service, mechanical integrity and commercial driven demands for the Conway Fractionator.  The Operations Technician position will need to have a positive attitude, ability to learn “on the job” from proven Operations Maintenance personal, and put safety first in all decision making processes.


Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Maintains Facility Integrity: Performs Operations of facilities within the regulations of WIMS, PSM, DOT, RMP, KDHE and company or site-specific procedures.
  • Readily identifies and promptly acts upon requirements for safety.
  • Generates and follows WIMS/ Maximo required documentation and regulations required for projects:  job plans, LOTO procedures, Permit to Work, MOCRs, etc.
  • Communicates equipment failures.
  • Ensures high reliability of equipment and operating systems.
  • Collaborates with functional groups to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Performs work to ensure alignment with and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Identifies key metrics to measure the effiency, effectiveness and reliability of processes.
  • Performs varied task and projects within a moderate range of responsibility.
  • Checks and maintains outside equipment to ensure safe and reliable service during Fractionator operation.
  • Performs daily gauge checks and sample analysis of products and equipment.
  • Deals ethically and honestly when representing Williams.
  • Demonstrate safety as the utmost priority
  • Ability to work in a team environment, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  A degree in a technical field or business is desired. Prior experience in a relevant technical field within the area of responsibility is preferred.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation (e.g., walking, bending, crawling, working in extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise, and enclosed spaces, climbing ladders, and lifting items that weigh more than 45lbs.)
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • General computer skills.
  • Ability to positively interface with fellow employees in sharing a common vision.
  • Competent in understanding and implementing Williams' policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance measures.
  • Be effective in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Good communication skills are required
  • Experience with energy industry asset operations is a plus.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing



2-4 years of experience in Operations within the oil and gas industry
