From processing plants to pipelines and compressor stations, we depend on the skills and dedication of our technicians to deliver the performance our customers expect. We’re looking for technician interns who will enjoy being part of a collaborative team. The purpose of our technician intern program is to provide our interns with meaningful work and resources to refine their technical skills so that they may serve as a robust candidate pool utilized to meet our entry-level, full-time needs. Together, we make energy happen!

Our organization is seeking an Operations Intern that will work with the Operations Manager, Supervisor and experienced technicians to learn the operations of a natural gas pipeline station while gaining hands-on experience. The intern will assist with the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of equipment on natural gas systems.


Responsbilites include:

  • The mechanical maintenance of: large bore reciprocating engine and compressors, gas turbines and their associated driven centrifugal compressors, pumps, valves, valve actuators, generators, air compressors, piping systems, etc.
  • The maintenance and testing of control systems and end devices associated with those systems.
  • The maintenance of pipe line right-of-way and natural gas metering facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in one of the following programs: 1) the Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology or other mechanical or technical program at Northern Virginia Community College or the Basic Electrical Technician, Electrical Control Technician Intermediate, GET: Industrial Electricity and Controls Technology Specialization, GET: Technical Operations Specialization, Industrial Maintenance Technician Basic or Industrial Maintenance Technician Intermediate at Lord Fairfax Community College.
  • Be able to climb stairs, ladders, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat. Be able to carry and lift items that can weigh 50lbs. Be willing to occasionally work in extremely hot and cold temperatures.
  • Safety is the utmost priority and a demonstrated minimum requirement for all applicants.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license with an excellent driving record.
