Our Organization is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Technician to be part of our Larose and Paradis, LA facilities. As an Instrumentation Technician at Williams, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation, inspection, and instrumentation of all natural gas treating equipment.

                        

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers and Operations Technicians in the following areas:  Instrumentation, Measurement, Control Loops, Distributive Control Systems, and Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controller.
  • Coordinate and maintain routine activities with instrumentation controls and electrical systems
  • Utilize electronic tools which include Enterprise Maintenance Planning and Control(No longer exist) and Maximo to endure the base line maintenance, reoccurring maintenance and condition based maintenance practices are consistently executed (Use the statement below instead)
  • Utilize Asset Management System-Maximo to ensure base line maintenance, preventive maintenance, and condition based maintenance practices are consistently executed
  • Assure safe operations of facilities through the implementation of best practices and improved maintenance management
  • Calibration of various types of instrumentation and assist with all troubleshooting process equipment to return to the facilities full service capacity
  • Readily identifies and promptly acts upon or efficiently organizes any efforts needed to address safety and operational efficiencies with the protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets in mind. Thoroughly understands industry and system requirements, while possessing the ability to produce results and to meet more complex goals

     

    Qualifications:

    Basic/Required:

  • Hold a minimum total of two (2) years’ experience as an Instrumentation Technician
  • Previously obtained a minimum of three and a half (3.5) years’ experience with the oil and gas field, or related industry
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be willing to work and handle shift on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills
  • Experience in programming and calibration of flow, pressure, level, and temperature transmitters and switches
  • Experience with setup and calibration of control and shutdown valves, positioners, and position indicators

     

    Preferred:

  • Possess an Associates’ degree in mechanical, electronic, instrumentation or related fields is preferred
  • Previously worked with the human to machine interface developed systems such as: Fox Draw, Intellection Fix 32, GE Simplicity, and Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Demonstrate experience with Programmable Logic Controller, Troubleshooting and Maintenance. The desired systems include: Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC 500, CLX 500, Omni Flow Computers, and Coriolis Meters
  • Have experience with Distributive Control Systems, Troubleshooting, Maintenance and Control Programming, preferably with the Foxboro I/A Series System
