Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Operations Technician I. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining reciprocating engines and compressors, turbines and centrifugal compressors, pipeline valves, meter stations, and pipeline rights of way.


  • Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, moderate to high-complexity assignments that would require technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in teamwork, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Identify organizational efforts needed to address safety and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain reciprocating and centrifugal compressors
  • Perform preventive pipeline facility maintenance and work described under the job progression system for the pipeline technician job family
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all related subsystems which include: starting, stopping, shutdowns, and safety systems related to natural gas pipeline compression and operations
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all meter stations, pipeline facilities, corrosion inspection, and right of ways (ROW)
  • Handle facility encroachment activities which include pipe location, excavation, and inspection which result from one-call notifications and/or direct calls.
  • Interact with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, and contractors




  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrate safety as the utmost priority
  • Have knowledge of mechanical equipment and willingness to learn and develop the Operation Technician training program
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to solve moderate and to high-complex issues
  • Possess advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Be able to apply fundamental evaluations and present recommendations
  • Possess a valid state driving license and an excellent driving record
  • Be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods of time
  • Be able to carry and lift items that can weigh 50lbs or more
  • Be willing to work in extremely hot and cold temperatures
  • Be able to work both in a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and business ethics
  • Be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations nights, and weekend shifts
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have basic knowledge of or willing to learn Microsoft Office applications



  • Possess a Vo-Tech certificate or Associates degree
  • Previously experience with in oil and gas industry
  • Previously worked on reciprocating engines/compressors, turbines/centrifugal compressors, pum
