Purpose:            

Candidate is responsible for assuring that all of a customer's business from on-line contracting, nominating and scheduling of transportation and storage transactions, allocation of all gas volumes, imbalance resolution, billing, and invoicing is completed in a timely manner and in compliance with Transco's policies, procedures, and Transco's FERC gas tariff.  In addition, the candidate is responsible for minimizing lost revenue or improving existing processes on assigned roles as subject matter expert. The normal work schedule of the successful candidate for this Transportation Services Representative weekend job will be Friday 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  and  Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Work location and preference for a full-time vs part time position is negotiable.

 

Job Duties:

  • Opens and maintains customer accounts while learning the physical pipeline and the interrelationships between business processes, systems, and regulations and the impact they have on Transco’s revenue
  • Schedules and coordinates customer pipeline services to maximize operating capacity by evaluating and/or confirming customer nominations, scheduling, allocation and billing information
  • Handles multiple customer accounts; complexity dependent upon experience and ability
  • Anticipates and/or identifies potential problems and coordinates innovative solutions to reduce risks and improve customer service/satisfaction
  • Assists in resolving 1Line system or business issues by clarifying the issue; determining the root cause; selecting/explaining the best solution and following up to ensure resolution
  • Maintains financial accounts by preparing/reviewing customer invoices, bills, and balance statements.  Completes the process through accounts receivable.
  • Understands the customer’s business and recommends potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs
  • Prepares product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information
  • Becomes a subject matter expert in the various aspects of regulatory, revenue, operations and/or computing systems
  • Monitors pipeline conditions and informs customers of status changes
  • Produces regulatory compliant postings for Informational Postings web site 
  • Manages pipeline locations
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing various tasks as needed and/or leading the effort
  • Performs a wide range of moderately difficult to complex assignments requiring independent thinking, creativity, analysis, innovation, and judgment 

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred
  • 5 -10 years of leadership/professional experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Self-starter with an inquisitive approach
  • Ability to shift gears and work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Service oriented with an ability to explain and/or convince customers of a differing viewpoint
  • Effective computer skills including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.  Able to communicate in a straightforward manner.
  • Uses effective listening skills and has proven conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to interact with both customers and internal personnel on issues of varying nature
  • Works well under minimal supervision with a team; experience leading small groups or teams is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the business, operations, engineering, and / or system dynamics of a natural gas pipeline system is advantageous.
