The Williams’ Gulf Coast Petrochemical & Feedstock Pipeline office is searching for a Senior Operations Technician with instrumentation and electrical experience for its liquids pipelines. The main work locations will be in the Port Arthur / Orange Tx to Lake Charles La. areas, reporting to supervision in Channelview Texas. Assistance with maintenance activities could be required within the district from Mont Belvieu TX. to Sulphur LA.

 

Responsibilities
 

  • Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person’s commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants. The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards.
  • Perform maintenance, trouble shooting, and calibration tasks for the liquid pipeline field devices in compliance of company procedures and city, state and federal codes.  Field devices include: pumps; electronic flow computers; Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers; protocol converters; flow control valves and actuators; alarm systems; pipeline over pressure protection; mainline and station valves; etc.
  • Periodically provide project lead to Contractors for repair and maintenance projects.
  • Order, maintain, and track material inventory.
  • Coordinate work activities with customers & Pipeline Control Center
  • Scheduled after hour on-call coverage

 

Qualifications

 

  • Ten (10) years liquid pipeline maintenance & operations, and/or oil and gas experience, preferred.
  • Associates in Applied Instrumentation Technology, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming, preferred.
  • Liquid measurement experience and knowledge of equipment (Omni Flow Computers, Coriolis Meters, and Turbine Meters), preferred, but not required.
  • Competent in the interpretation/review of PID’s, logic diagrams, and Cause & Effect diagrams
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills. 
  • Knowledge of pigging operations, preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and administrative skills.  
  • Able to work productively and collaboratively in a team environment and as an individual with minimal supervision and a high level of self-motivation. 
  • Possess a valid state driving license and an excellent driving record.
  • Willingness to travel for project work on other areas of the system. 
  • Demonstrates an intermediate knowledge of general computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must live within 45 minutes of Port Arthur, TX / Lake Charles area or be willing to relocate.
