Responsibilities

  • This Division level position is responsible for coordinating all District level gas measurement functions and commissioning of new facilities to achieve the highest level of safety, standardization in compliance with Company and industry practices, system reliability and personnel proficiency.
  • Works with the District Managers to manage work load balance for the technicians across the Division.  Supports Operations in trouble shooting equipment, budgeting for repairs, replacements and enhancements, standardization of tools and equipment, personnel training and development, and employee performance reviews.
  • Division contact for custody transfer of gas, gas quality analysis, and gas measurement requirements.  Technical support for odorization, gas chromatographs, regulators and OPP.  Coordinates with Telecom to ensure measurement data communication is maintained.  Forecasts and orders odorant.
  • Interfaces with Customer Services, Customers, Measurement System Support, Planning, Engineering and Operations for the conceptual and technical design of new and existing facilities.
  • Acts as Project Manager for Division measurement projects and is responsible for following Company standards, specifying and ordering material, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Investigates and resolves gas measurement and quality issues identified by Operations, internal customers, interconnecting companies and governmental agencies.  Participates in internal and regulatory audits of field measurement facilities.  Primary interface with external customers to resolve volume issues, ensure new equipment is installed and performs in an acceptable manner and coordinate operational meetings.
  • Participates in the review of measurement, computer system hardware requirements, systems development and program implementation for measurement systems, and disaster recovery procedures.  Ensures reliability of and analyzes operating data from WMS, PHD, SCADA and other Williams’ systems to troubleshoot, identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.

 

Qualifications

  • Must possess strong safety and leadership skills and be able to work with internal and external customers.
  • A strong technical background in gas measurement is required – familiarity with SCADA, standards, contracts, tariffs, and operating and interconnect agreements is a plus.
  • Strong computer, organization, process, analytical, and problem solving skills are required.  Ideal candidate can perform data analysis and graphing using Microsoft Excel or PI.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in working well in a team environment plus strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Be able to develop strong teams and instill trust and cooperation.
  • Must be able to make informed timely decisions and adjust to rapidly changing work environment.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a two year technical degree in an appropriate field or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, although equivalent experience and training will be considered. 
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of operation experience is preferred.
