SCADA Analyst is responsible for providing operation, commissioning and project support.  The analyst will be responsible for participating in aspects of new projects including design, programming, testing, and implementations as well as day-to-day maintenance, upgrades, and system upkeep. The SCADA analyst should have strong communication skills, work well with teams and understand the importance of standardization and documentation. 

 

Duties:

  • Remediate application system issues through appropriate troubleshooting, incident change, and problem management standards
  • Developing new techniques and / or improving existing processes
  • Manage and maintain system support and performance
  • Offer first level system maintenance and support including new RTU or PLC additions as well as communication troubleshooting
  • Support commissioning activities by working with Asset Integration, SCADA, Pipeline Control and field tech teams
  • Serve as the local subject matter expert for SCADA modernization project
  • Program and script design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance and support
  • Provide telephone and email support for SCADA host application issues – includes both field and corporate calls
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Travel as required
  • Participate on-call rotation

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Requirements

  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
  • Strong formal and informal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and responsibilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of computer knowledge both hardware and software.

 

Preferred:

  • Expertise with ClearSCADA (Telvent experience a plus)
  • Experience with OPC, AutoSOL, Kepware
  • Experience with related programming languages (VBscript, Structured Text, .NET, Python, VBA, REST APIs, Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams, SQL)
  • SQL and database experience  
  • Strong support for management of change process and work intake documentation
  • Previous experience with regulated pipeline or energy companies (a plus)
  • Familiarity with various flow computer protocols
  • Network understanding
  • Experience building SCADA HMI
  • Project management experience (a plus)
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or SCADA

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or other technically related field or Bachelor's degree with equivalent technical experience
  • 3 years' experience in a similar role  (working with SCADA systems; field automation; gas control; pipeline control)
