We are currently looking for a strong originator to generate economically attractive pipeline investment and pipeline development opportunities that are supportive of our growth strategy.  The successful candidate will lead business development initiatives designed to increase EBITDA and optimize the value of our pipeline and storage assets consistent with our overall strategy.  He or she will manage medium and large complex projects and transactions with minimal supervision.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing updates to executive leadership as applicable regarding growth initiatives.  He or she will also be responsible for the coordinating of technical, economic, regulatory, and legal matters for evaluation of the development opportunity.



  • Identification, evaluation and recommendation of new pipeline / storage investment and growth opportunities for William’s regulated assets along the Gulf Coast (Onshore and Offshore), Eastern Seaboard and Northeast.
  • Originates, performs due diligence and pursues new growth opportunities which may be outside of the traditional regulated asset footprint. 
  • Identifies opportunities for ownership or leases on 3rd party assets to facilitate competitive growth opportunities for Williams.
  • Responsible for coordinating with commercial, regulatory and engineering teams to develop economically viable solutions to grow pipeline transportation and storage assets and meet customer needs.
  • Anticipates internal/external customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies new and creative workable solutions with a view to maximize Williams’s opportunities.
  • Primary focus is to grow fee based revenue for the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line System.
  • Obtain results as measured by growth in EBITDA.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Effectively leads project teams comprised of indirect reports.
  • Creates and closes deals that are accretive to the Williams portfolio.
  • Thinks beyond the status quo to develop innovative solutions to complex problems that improve performance, efficiency and safety.
  • Will be actively involved in complex projects and studies.
  • Familiar with tools and publications utilized for natural gas market and end-user intelligence to maintain pro-activeness for pipeline development opportunities.
  • Works through the chain of command and persuades management level internal/external customers, vendor, or regulators to adopt a different point of view.
  • Makes decisions guided by policies in non-standard situations
  • Impacts the achievement of customer, functional, operational, project or service objectives.
  • Manages projects or programs with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity, and monitors and controls costs and resources associated with those projects and programs.



  • A Bachelor’s of Science or higher in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of natural gas experience in a regulated or non-regulated role.
  • Previous experience using creativity, initiative and collaboration with stakeholders to drive transactions to closure and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience interacting with customers at all levels of an organization. Broad knowledge of commercial aspects of the natural gas and /or oil industry. 
  • Previous experience negotiating large pipeline and storage projects with potential customers.
  • A comprehensive understanding of deal structure, contract terms, financial issues, and other aspects of pipeline and storage project development.
  • Previous experience leading project teams across multi-functional areas
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
