The Process Safety Management Coordinator is the local subject matter expert who actively participates as a part of the Susquehanna Supply Hub team to support pipeline and facility operations, support construction projects and drive a process safety culture.  The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and oversee elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) Program activities as defined in Williams Integrated Management System (WIMS), as related to OSHA and industry standards.   This position will support the Susquehanna Supply Hub (SSH) Operations and coordinate with other Safety and Operational Discipline Teams (Process Safety, Employee Safety, Asset Integrity, WIMS Assurance, Environment, and Asset Reliability and Performance).  Additionally, this role will assist the Engineering Services groups in meeting their PSM responsibilities, for design and construction implementation. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations Supervisors, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Operations Technicians and coordinates with other functional groups to ensure that Process Safety Information (PSI) is available and in compliance with the Williams Integrated Management System (WIMS) and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with various functional groups across the company to implement new or modified WIMS standards related to Process Safety.
  • Assists in developing and implementing site specific operating and maintenance procedures
  • Facilitate management of change process by identifying documentation update needs, technical reviews, and other key deliverables driven by changes to the processes and providing follow up as needed to ensure MOC
  • Participate in incident investigations as a facilitator, lead or team member and ensures appropriate follow up on area hazard/near miss and incident reporting.
  • Track area action items utilizing Gensuite software and assist the operating area with closure.
  • Responsible for performing Life Critical training (e.g., work permitting, job planning, hot work, confined space, management of change, lockout/tag out, excavation and trenching) as applicable to the role.
  • Provide the training of PSM requirements to facility personnel, contractors and general public as necessary
  • Participate in PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), HSR (Hazard Screen Review) and MOC (Management of Change) process to help identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.  Complete the Williams qualification process to be certified as a PHA One Node facilitator.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal assessments and required assurance audits and assist area with development and implementation of gap closure.
  • Provide operating area process safety metric data to area leadership.
  • Influence without authority to drive process safety culture to front line personnel and leaders.
  • Extrapolate failures and near misses to identify systemic process or equipment deficiencies and work with leadership to mitigate.
  • Prepare process safety related reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.


Technical Competencies:

  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to learn company specific software applications.

  • Must be a team player as well as a goal-oriented individual who functions with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Able to perform new facility walkthroughs and inspections and determine conformance with industry, company and regulatory standards
  • Able to utilize Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and other applicable documentation to review process systems and determine process safety impacts.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Process Safety, Engineering, EHS or other technical discipline from accredited university or equivalent experience in a professional safety role preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in industry and preferably the natural gas industry.
  • Possess a strong track record in facilities, engineering and operations.  Working knowledge of production, processing, and/or construction experience, is required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting operations and project groups.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Role will require public speaking, presentation development and significant report writing.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to quickly learn new software programs.
  • Working knowledge of EHS Management Systems and safety metrics (occupational and process safety).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Process Safety Management, behavior based safety and industry best practices.
  • Have the ability to communicate shared experiences in process hazard recognition with frontline personnel using expressive and creative techniques in training forums and individual meetings;
  • Any employee who drives a company or personal vehicle for Company business must possess a valid driver licenses and follow all guidelines that are outlined in the Company’s Fleet Policy
  • Ability to travel and support assets within an assigned geographic region.
  • Ability to travel away from the local operating area up to approximately 25%
