We are currently searching for an experienced technician to perform tasks related to the maintenance and operation of natural gas compressor stations and associated pipeline in Heidelberg, MS and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigned projects and duties including but not limited to: mechanical and electrical maintenance, regulatory compliance and related documentation, general core pipeline and right-of-way maintenance tasks; and other functions as required. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair engines, compressors, pumps, motors, valves, generators, and air compressors.
  • Manage third-party encroachment activities to prevent damage to Williams Pipelines.
  • Provide direction to contractors on Williams’ damage prevention procedures, compliance, and right-of way maintenance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and solve mechanical and electrical system problems.
  • Support project development and execution while working with cross-functional teams in E&C (Engineering & Construction), technical services, management, and compliance groups.
  • Work individually or in a team environment and be self-motivated to independently complete skill requirements and training.
  • Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, moderate to high-complexity assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment.

  • Complete and comply with all OSHA, Environmental, Emergency Response, OQ skills and company assigned training.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Possess a high school diploma
  • Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Have a valid State Operators Driving License and excellent driving record
  • Be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, and weekend shifts
  • Be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Possess adequate written and verbal communication skills
  • Participate in the Operations Development Plan (ODP)
  • Be willing to work in extremely hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and enclosed spaces
  • Ability to carry and lift items that can weigh 45lbs or more
  • Be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods of time
  • Be able to work in environmental extremes while operating hand and power tools, climbing ladders, and two-way radios
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Team Orientated, and the ability to work well with others
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills

 Preferred

  • Two-year technical school degree in mechanical, air craft mechanics, electronic instrumentation, process technology, or other technical degree
  • Previously obtained a minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas field, or related industry
