Summary and Purpose

Our organization is seeking a highly qualified Asset Integrity Specialist II to be a member of our Fort Worth, Texas team.  Reporting to the Supervisor of Asset Integrity, the primary purpose for this Asset Integrity Specialist is to provide technical support and management of the internal corrosion controls program. This position will also be expected to assist other Asset Integrity Specialists with external corrosion controls, maintain the integrity of pipelines and vessels, as well as, maintain a safe and environmentally friendly atmosphere.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Internal Corrosion control and monitoring)

  • Understand and manage the internal corrosion testing methods including taking water samples, bacteria inoculations and internal coupon replacement and installation.
  • Be able to identify gaps and issues with internal corrosion mitigation program and discuss solutions.
  • Develop Site Specific Internal Corrosion Documents.
  • Participate in any audits performed by State or Federal regulatory Agencies.  This can include data preparation and being observed in taking field measurements.
  • Manage chemical vendor services, such as:
    •  Scheduling chemical treatments
    • Creating work orders for procurement of services
    • Conducting quarterly meetings with operations and service provider to review program successes and opportunities for improvement
       

Cathodic Protection (CP)

  • Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys
  • Complete all necessary documentation
  • Ensure readings and records are in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
  • Support the successful completion of regulatory audits
  • Install and maintain all cathodic protection facilities;
  • Perform tests for cathodic protection system design and mitigate any problems
  • Coordinate cathodic protection construction projects (cathodic protection and reconditioning (recoating);
  • Pipeline integrity surveys which include direct assessments and close interval surveys;
  • Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits

     

  • In-Line Inspection (Note:  ILI projects are managed by Asset Integrity Engineer)

  • Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys
  • Complete all necessary documentation
  • Ensure readings and records are in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
  • Support the successful completion of regulatory audits
  • Install and maintain all cathodic protection facilities
  • Perform tests for cathodic protection system and design and mitigate any problems
  • Coordinate cathodic protection construction projects (cathodic protection and reconditioning (recoating)
  • Pipeline integrity surveys, which include direct assessments and close interval surveys
  • Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits.

     

     

     

    Additional Responsibilities

  • This position is primarily a field position and requires the physical capability of traversing rugged terrain on foot when required, with occasionally carrying heavy loads of up to 30lbs in a field environment with the ability to conduct pipeline inspections in rough terrain.
  • Absorb, adapt and execute additional responsibilities commensurate to the position as requested by supervisor or required by other management decisions
  • The successful candidate is expected to attend training courses and conferences to stay current on pipeline integrity evaluation methods and technology and actively participate in the continuing development and improvement of Williams´ corrosion program.

     

    Minimum Requirements

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previously obtained a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have basic to intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications, (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..), with the ability to become proficient with all corrosion software (Pipeline Toolbox, RSTRENG, CPDM/PCS and ILI vendor software)
  • Travel outside the normal operating area up to 25%
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills
  • Be able to work in both a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision
  • Interface with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, contractors, etc...
  • Be willing to work towards and maintain a NACE certification at CP Level II – CP Technician
  • Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and trigonometry
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license with the ability to obtain Department of Transportation (DOT) certification is required


    Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a two (2) year technical degree and/or four (4) or more years related experience
  • Possess a NACE CP Level I CP Tester certification
  • Possess a NACE CP Level II CP Technician certification
  • Possess a NACE Internal Corrosion for Pipelines - Basic
  • Possess a NACE Internal Corrosion for Pipelines - Advanced
  • Possess a CMV driver’s license
