Provide engineering and project management services as part of the Engineering Services Team, supporting operational support and capital growth projects for Ohio River Supply Hub in Connellsville, PA.  Responsible for managing multiple capital projects across the region to ensure they are completed safely and achieve desired objectives by providing project scope development, design engineering, bid proposals, contractor selection and project execution. Requires coordination with Project Development, Operations, Tech Services, Operational Excellence, Project Excellence and within Project Execution.  This position will work closely with operations, technical services and engineering services stakeholders.  Building working relationships with field personnel involved with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the gas system is a key success factor in this role.

 

Key responsibilities of this role

  • Lead engineering design, scope refinement, cost estimating, development of project design specifications, and support construction.
  • Participate in planning, engineering and design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities and pipelines.
  • Oversee project activities of third party project managers, consulting engineers, construction inspectors, and contractors.
  • Utilize computer modeling and data analysis tools to aid in the evaluation, justification, and development of solutions to problems and/or opportunities.
  • Influence decisions that improve reliability and operability, reduce operating costs, and create a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Utilize systems, processes, and support the subject matter expert, project managers, and project developers to aid in decision making and potential project development.
  • Translate project plans into coherent, credible, realistic project schedules.
  • Specifying equipment and major materials for procurement
  • Providing in the field construction assistance
  • Understand industry standards, applicable regulatory codes and requirements, and company standards.

 

 Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Have advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priorities changes occur
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Possess the ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance on planning, scheduling, and engineering subjects.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret engineer drawings to include P&IDs, PFDs, C&Es, One Line Diagrams, Isometrics, and Civil/Structural drawings

Qualifications:

A Successful Candidate Will:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Have 8-12 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, but still acquiring higher level knowledge and capabilities.
  • Have experience in pipeline, compressor, and NGL processing facilities.
  • Have experience with project engineering, construction and commissioning of natural gas pipelines, processing facilities, or related equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate specialized skills
  • Ability to anticipate internal/external customer needs, and assess requirements and identify new solutions.

 

Travel:

  • Frequent day travel to field locations and surrounding support offices is required
  • Up to 25% overnight travel may be required
