Summary and Purpose

Our organization is seeking a highly qualified Operations Technician to be a member of our Cameron, Louisiana team.  Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, the primary purpose of the Operations Technician is to be responsible for the safe monitoring, controlling, and operating of all natural gas pipelines and equipment within Station 30, and all Williams assets.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate all engine driven reciprocating compressors, natural gas compressors, natural gas dehydration units, and all ancillary equipment related.  
  • Accurately maintain and complete all maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents within Williams
  • Operate and maintain all onshore pipeline components including:  valves, piping, pigging equipment, platform cranes, navigational aid systems, pipeline right of way, meter and/or regulator stations, etc...  
  • Operates switchgear up to 5kv and disconnects 480 volt motors for maintenance functions
  • Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities associated with compressor stations
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all related subsystems which include:  starting, stopping, safety shutdowns, and combustion controls
  • Maintain and operate auxiliary equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, filters, instrumentation, controls, etc.).
  • Repairs and calibrates flow, pressure, and temperature transmitters. (Honeywell, Rosemount, Motorola)
  • Interface with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, contractors, etc...
  • Handle facility encroachment activities including pipe location, excavation, and inspection resulting from one-call notifications and/or direct calls.
  • Respond to mandatory after hour work as needed for routine on-call rotations

     

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of four (4) years natural gas pipeline, plant maintenance, and/or oil and gas experience
  • This Williams location requires access to secure areas regulated by the Maritime Transportation Security Act. All employees must have and/or be able to obtain a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) Card.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:  Riding in helicopters, boats, climbing small towers, and lifting heavy object weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to wear safety gear, protective equipment, gloves, uniforms, and other articles of safety clothing or gear as required by OSHA,DOT, or other regulatory agencies. 
  • Ability to work after hours, on-call rotations, which may require some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Possess core technical skills related to Programmable Logix Controls (PLCs), (Allen Bradley line), PLC programming, HMI proficiencies, Wonder ware, and field I/O devices
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in both a team setting and individually with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates an intermediate knowledge of general computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), but has the willingness and ability to learn company specific programs

 

This Williams location requires access to secure areas regulated by the Maritime Transportation Security Act. All employees must have and/or be able to obtain a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) Card.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree instrumentation, electrical, mechanics, and/or related field.  
  • Five (5) years natural gas pipeline, plant maintenance, and/or oil and gas experience
  • Previous operational experience within an offshore environment.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Physical Requirements:  Standing/walking, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolds; bending/stooping/squatting; carrying and lifting items which sometimes weigh more than 45 lbs.
  • This Williams location requires access to secure areas regulated by the Maritime Transportation Security Act. All employees must have and/or be able to obtain a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) Card.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:  Riding in helicopters, boats, climbing small towers, and lifting heavy object weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Working Conditions:  Exposure to extreme heat and/or cold temperatures, high noise levels, and enclosed spaces.
