Purpose & Scope:

Williams shall train members of the Jicarilla Apache Nation on a rotating basis in skills required to complete Williams’ Operations Progression Program for entry level positions in gathering and processing operations. The training provided in the Operations Progression Program will include instruction in some or all of the following natural gas gathering and processing disciplines: measurement, dehydration, corrosion, compression, pipeline construction, production, equipment maintenance, process operations, safety, and environmental regulations. Specific training provided to the trainees will be dependent on individual trainee assignments. Training provided through the Operations Progression Program will include a combination of on the-job and computer-based instruction, and will be consistent with training that is provided to all Williams’ trainees. Williams may retain flexibility in assignments as its business needs may dictate. Training locations will be determined by Williams, at Williams’ discretion, but will generally be based on the proximity of assigned locations relative to the trainees’ homes, Williams’ operational needs, and availability of trainers and training materials. The duration of individual training programs will be approximately six (6) months to twelve (12) months. In the event Williams does not elect to offer full employment to the trainee, the trainee relationship shall end, and the position may be filled by a new trainee.

 

Eligibility & Qualifications:

Any member of the Nation who is a high school graduate, who can meet physical requirements of participating in the Program, and is otherwise eligible for hire by The Williams Companies, Inc. shall be eligible for the Operations Progression Program.

 

Requirements:

Trainee will be required to provide his or her own transportation to/from the assigned work location. Trainee will be required to provide personal protective equipment, consisting of safety prescription glasses (if vision correction is required to perform duties), steel-toed footwear, and appropriate clothing. Williams will provide nonprescription safety glasses, hardhat, flame-retardant clothing (for plant-related training) and hearing protection consistent with the policies under which Williams provides such equipment to its regular employees.

 

Key Purpose and Scope of the Operations Technician Role

This position is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of equipment and instrumentation on selected natural gas and treating systems within the Four Corners Area. This position includes tasks related to natural gas treating and the maintenance and operation of gas treating and compressor stations. Individual is responsible for assigned projects and duties required, including: steam driven turbines; Gas fired turbines;  gas-fired/Diesel reciprocating engines;  Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors; Centrifugal and Positive displacement pumps;  Pipeline pigging; Exchangers and vessels; Boilers, HRSG heat recover steam generators, Waste heat recovery units; operating and maintaining glycol dehydration Systems; operating and maintaining Amine systems; Along with properly completing maintenance records, service reports and other required documents; and other functions as required.

The main areas of responsibility (key activities)

  • Facility integrity: Operate facilities within the regulations of PSM, DOT, RMP, and company or site specific procedures.
  • Generate and follow SIP required documentation and regulations required for projects: job plans, LOTO procedures, MOCRs, etc.
  • Generate and update operating procedures.
  • Completion of operational related work orders and action items.
  • Mechanical integrity. Pumps, compressors, exchangers, turbines, engines, Separation equipment, Treating and dehydration equipment.
  • Equipment health analysis and trending.
  • Perform truck terminal operations.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate equipment failures.
  • Perform or oversee daily maintenance tasks.
