Our Organization is seeking a highly skilled Measurement Operation Technician to be part of our Cardinal operations in Apex, NC.  As a Measurement Operation Technician at Williams, in addition to performing as an Operations Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for measurement data collection, data verification/validation and accuracy.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assure safe operations of facilities through the implementation of best practices and improved maintenance management
  • Perform maintenance and operational tasks with all natural gas process related equipment, gas and liquid measurement, safety and control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Utilize TestIt to ensure meter testing, verification and calibration is within Williams’ tolerances.
  • Operate, test, repair, and install gas measurement, flow control, pressure control and gas quality analytical equipment.
  • Accurately calibrate and trouble shoot gas chromatographs.
  • Required to work on Natural Gas Measurement Meters such as orifice, ultrasonic and others along with associated measurement or control devices according to the policies and procedures as specified in the Williams Integrated Management System.
  • Must understand the operating principles of orifice, positive displacement, ultrasonic and associated equipment, and be able to calculate gas flows.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers and Operation Technicians in Instrumentation, Measurement, Control Loops and Gas Chromatographs.
  • Provide support to district level measurement related tactical projects and support companywide initiatives related to operations measurement.
  • Utilize OMS/Maximo to ensure the base line maintenance, reoccurring maintenance and condition based maintenance practices are consistently executed. Consistently demonstrate proficiency in teamwork, interpersonal, communication and mentoring skills.
  • Comply with all FERC, DOT, OSHA, AGA & API guidelines, rules and regulations.
  • Properly maintain and complete maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents as required.
  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment, vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Attend safety and technical training while progressing in the Measurement and I&E Operations Technician development process.
  • Follow and adhere to Williams’ System Integrity Plan for all regulatory requirements and company core values and beliefs.
  • Participate in various teams and/or team initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Must be willing to work on on-call. 
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and adequate PC skills.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift fifty (50+) pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work outdoors, and be able to climb ladders and stairs with occasional work on elevated equipment.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and be able to safely perform tasks and make decisions with minimum supervision.
  • Possess internal and external customer focused skills, while encouraging a stable and productive partnership with each.
  • Be initiative driven, dependable, and have the desire to develop increasing levels of leadership skills.

 

Preferred

  • Possess an Associates’ Degree and/or Technical Certificate.
  • 3 years of previous measurement experience
  • Knowledge of AGA/API recommended practices.
  • Previous experience in an environment with gas-plant operations, gas compression, and/or liquid or gas gathering processes.
